Game developer and publisher Dotemu is carving a path as a definitive retro gaming specialist. After remaking Windjammers and recently announcing Windjammers 2, the team has made another surprise announcement. After a 24-year hiatus, Dotemu, Guard Crush Games, and Lizardcube are teaming up for the revival of a classic brawler with Streets of Rage 4. Release date and platforms are unknown at this time.
The trailer shows off a new, hand-drawn art style along with a couple returning characters for the new entry in the side-scrolling brawler series. Blaze Fielding and Axel Stone make their face-crushing returns and a new, snake-wielding villain is teased at the end of the trailer as well. As of right now, we only have limited information on Streets of Rage 4, but I have my fingers crossed for the return of the rollerblading cool kid Eddie "Skate" Hunter. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
