Want some chaos on the go? Deep Silver found a way to surprise everyone today, even with Gamescom 2018 reveals underway, by announcing that Saints Row The Third is coming to Nintendo Switch. The news was revealed in a tweet with no additional details, other than a statement that more info will be revealed "in due course."
This is a major reveal for Nintendo Switch and Deep Silver for a couple reasons. On one hand, this could signal a future for the Saints Row franchise after the troubled spin-off Agents of Mayhem caused Volition layoffs. On the other hand, this is a robust open-world experience for Nintendo Switch users to take on the go and will be yet another example of what the console is capable of, despite The Third being an older game.
Nintendo also surprised everyone yesterday with the indie highlights showing off a plethora of Nindies coming to the Switch console, including Bad North, Prison Architect, and Morphis Law, which are available right now.
