Today, during Gamescom 2018, Larry Hryb took to PUBG headquarters to tell a poignant story of the battle royale game that's captured the world's attention, and dropped a big bombshell in the process. PUBG is finally releasing for the console and leaving Early Access as of September 4. Yes, finally! The cat's out of the bag.
With the game's full debut in version 1.0 mode, it'll also add quite a bit of new goodies to the mix, including the famous new Sanhok map, for the first time on Xbox One. This will be the first time eager console players have had a chance to get their hands on it, so this is obviously great news for those looking to have a field day with PUBG if their Fortnite hype has begun to wane. There are people out there like that, after all.
The Xbox One version of the game will also include War Mode, as well as a special currency that people will be able to purchase cosmetics with. There aren't many details at this time as to what this might include, but you can bet it'll likely be a lot of stuff to help customize your character so they don't look like a lame, generic loser. You know, that's what basic characters usually end up looking like when you first start playing a game.
The game's "full release" doesn't mean that's the end for it, however. It's going to receive plenty more updates as time wears on. Remember that during E3 we had our first glimpse of a winter-themed map. That's still coming down the line, though we're not sure when. We'll likely be hearing more about it hopefully by the end of the year, but this huge Xbox release is still great news for PUBG fans.
