How to get more Skap Slag in God of War
New Game+ introduces Skap Slag, a valuable upgrade material, for players to gather.
God of War has plenty of armor to chase, talismans to unlock, and weapon upgrades to find, and now thanks to the inclusion of a New Game+ mode, players have another resource to farm: Skap Slag. Finding enough Skap Slag to purchase and upgrade the new armor sets will likely be players’ top priority when starting New Game+.
How to farm Skap Slag
Skap Slag is a new resource that has been introduced into God of War through the New Game+ mode. At the beginning of the game, it will appear as if Skap Slag is in abundance, as nearly all of the caskets will contain the red, Perfect resource. However, once players reach Brok and look at the price of the new Perfect-rated armor sets, it will quickly become apparent that significantly more Skap Slag will be needed to purchase and upgrade a full set.
There are a few ways players can get more Skap Slag:
- Open red caskets
- Reach milestones in the story
- Close Realm Tears, and
- Complete Trials in Muspelheim
For a lot of players, the easiest way to collect Skap Slag will be to simply progress through the story, unlocking caskets along the way. While this will be the least stressful, it isn’t the most efficient way to farm Skap Slag. If this is the best option for you, be sure to bookmark the Shacknews guide on all Realm Tear locations so you don't miss a single one.
The best way to farm up Skap Slag is to gain access to the fiery realm of Muspelheim. To do this, players will need to find all the Muspelheim language ciphers, at which point the path to Muspelheim can be opened.
Once in Muspelheim, completing the various trials has a chance to reward Skap Slag, and because these trials can be completed repeatedly, it makes for an efficient – if sometimes challenging – way to farm the upgrade material.
The new armor in God of War’s New Game+ is exceptionally powerful, so players who are looking to attempt a run through the Give Me God of War difficulty would be wise to collect as much Skap Slag as possible. Be sure to check out the Shacknews God of War guide for more collectible locations!
