FromSoftware had a big E3 surprise for anyone watching the Microsoft E3 2018 Xbox Briefing, revealing Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. While the developer continues to work through the final stages of the game's development, publisher Activision has come forward with an official release date.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will release worldwide on March 22, 2019. Furthermore, those attending Gamescom will be among the first to go hands-on with an early version of the game. They'll step into the role of the "one-armed wolf" protagonist, venturing through 1500s Sengoku, Japan. In addition to the visceral sword combat, the protagonist can fight the powerful enemy forces that await him by using his Shinobi Prosthetic. In addition to acting as a grappling hook, players can equip it with various tools that can give them an edge in combat.
Activision has also revealed the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Collector's Edition. This will include the full game, 7" Shinobi statue, SteelBook, collectible artbook, a full map, a digital soundtrack, and replica game coins. No word on a price point for this Collector's Edition just yet, but pre-orders are currently open at select retailers.
