As we're all aware by now, there was some very interesting news today from Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate-focused Direct. Of course, the entirety of the internet has been talking about it. Everyone, including the United States Marine Corps.
Before you go getting excited, they're not talking about the new characters like Simon and Richter or even King K. Rool. They're talking about themselves. The Marines...or "Marine Corps Ultimate." Yes, they're using the Smash hype as a recruitment tool and using the Smash hashtag to get people interested in joining the USMC. The result? Oh, man. It's far too cringeworthy. Do you really want to see it? Alright then. Look below.
You can watch a quick recruitment video done up in the style of different soldiers "joining the fight," much like Smash characters. It's, uh...well, it's something. Gosh, it sure does make me want to join.
No. Please stop, USMC. You're better than this and you know it.
