Frostpunk earned an eight out of 10 from the Shacknews team in its review and the developers, 11 bit studios, has continued to keep players engaged by adding free content to the game. Since its launch on April 24, 2018, the studio has released regular patches and also added a new survival mode to Frostpunk. The latest update, 1.1.2., makes this dystopian world a bit more personal by allowing players to customize the names of humans and automatons. The team is also teasing additional free updates down the line.
In addition to the new naming option, update 1.1.2. includes updated visuals, additional hardware support, and optimizations. Regarding the visuals, hunter airships, hunter huts, gathering posts, outposts, and workshop have all gotten facelifts. The changes make it easier to spot the specific facilities faster. Further, 11 bit studios is teasing some more additions to Frostpunk's roadmap. In the press release for update 1.1.2., the developers closed by stating that more free updates are coming and that fans should pay attention to their social media for updates.
