THX-Certified PCs

91
If you want to have THX-certified video/sound on your PC, it's possible now. Lucasfilm THX and Dell announced today that Dell will soon begin shipping. It combines a normal PC with THX certified multimedia speaker systems with Dolby Digital surround sound support, as well as a program that allows for easy configuration of your setup for audio and video.

update Jack - This seems to be a popular story in the comments so I upgraded it to a full size story.

Very true. While THX is a good certification to go by, as long as you've got a high end sound card capable of digital 5.1 (hope DTS is integrated soon) and a good set of digital input capable speakers, you can do so much better than one of those PCs from Dell.

Yeah, I don't know of anything awful about the THX specs, it's just that you don't need that certification to have good quality sound.

Most high end non THX systems probably meet most of the specs anyways.
