Pentium4 Released

67
As anticipated, Intel has released their spanky new Pentium4 CPU sporting brand new CPU architecture for the first time since the PentiumPro chip so many years ago. Is it fast? Well here's some benchmarks from yesterday which seem to be fairly consistent with all the reviews:

CPU Quake3 Fastest Quake3 HQ 3DMark2k (T&L) Sysmark2k
P4 1.5GHz 199.5 145.4 9162 208
P4 1.4GHz 192.6 144.2 8867 199
K7 1.2GHz DDR 166.0 137.3 9624 232
K7 1.2GHz 133 143.6 125.4 8742 221

Here's the usual suspects with their reviews: HardOCP , AnandTech , SharkyExtreme , FiringSquad , HotHardware , GamersDepot , AcesHardware.

The square root of the cotangent of the cache to heat ratio is proportional to the Pentium 4's pipeline length. The Athlon however has a differential quad-poo with biggy-fry cache and a normal pipeline, which sells at anti-monopolisitic prices. If the naked amazon ladies mow their lawn will they be without bush? If batman is unable to escape will robin be able to live with himself?
