E3 2018: Exclusive Spider-Man Shocker Fight Gameplay
Get a glimpse of a bank heist gone bad as Spider-Man takes on Shocker.
While the the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has a long and storied history in the world of video games, none of his previous appearances have generated as much excitement as the current game in development at Insomniac Games, makers of Ratchet and Clank and Sunset Overdrive. First revealed during Sony’s E3 2016 press briefing, Spider-Man sent the live crowd into a frenzy with its incredible graphics and insane action. Fast forward to E3 2018 and the game is nearing release. Sony and Insomniac brought a playable build of the game to Los Angeles and the Shacknews street team got the chance to go hands-on with an early boss encounter with Herman Schultz, better known as Shocker.
The action begins inside a bank vault and quickly spills out into the bank’s lobby. The incredibly crisp lighting and shadows of Insomniac’s modified Sunset Overdrive engine jump off the screen and give us a glimpse at how gorgeous this game will be once it makes its final release. Also on display is a glimpse at how the spider sense is represented in the game, giving Spider-Man the chance to dodge Shocker’s attacks.
You can take the fight to Shocker yourself when Spider-Man arrives on the PS4 and PS4 Pro September 7. If you can’t wait until then, check out our interview with Insomniac Creative Director Brian Intihar about what to expect from Spider-Man’s PS4 debut.
