This is as good a time as any to mention this I suppose, since it doesn't look like Microsoft will be issuing any press release. As seen in the latest Gamespy diary, Mech Warrior 4 has gone gold. There's no demo for you to try as the test version that was previously released only worked until earlier this month. No demo doesn't mean no minithumbnail rampage though.
