Days Gone: Exclusive Interview with Game Director Jeff Ross
SIE Bend Studio’s upcoming zombiefest is one of the more intriguing titles in the PS4 lineup. We talk with the game’s director to learn what’s in store for players.
Days Gone has been in development for a long time. The title makes its public debut way back at E3 2016 during Sony’s press conference. News from Sony and developer SIE Bend was nonexistent until E3 2017, when the game got an extended demonstration and showed off gameplay for the first time publically. In the march towards E3 2018, SIE Bend invited some of the gaming press to get a closer look at Days Gone at a Sony preview event last week. The Shacknews team was able to secure an interview with Jeff Ross (not that Jeff Ross), director of Days Gone, and get the scoop on what to expect out of this PS4 zombie apocalypse.
Ross explains the action seen in a gameplay demonstration that was shown at the event. Some of the game’s mechanics are explained for the first time, including the upgrade system and ways the protagonist can improve his motorcycle. Also discussed are the famous zombie bears that were first seen during the E3 2017 demo. Ross was less than forthcoming on when the game will hit PS4 consoles, stating that the game had a release date, but he couldn’t disclose it. Days Gone has many fans excited and landed a spot on our Most Anticipated PS4 Games of 2018 list.
