If attending those offline tournaments like the CPL ones isn't really something you can do, maybe you can join the Twin Galaxies Quake3 tournament. It's an online tournament with $2000 in cash prizes. The tourney will kick off November 22, and you will have to register on the Twin Galaxies to be eligible to compete.
