Destiny 2 is known for its funky error codes that mean absolutely nothing. All of them are hilarious, which is maybe the point. Perhaps Bungie is trying to put a smile on your face while you’re raging about the fact you can’t play the game. Today’s big problem for Guardians is error code Guitar, but what can you do about it?
Error code Guitar is a general networking error according to Bungie’s help page. If there are lots of Guardians experiencing this, your best bet is to go play something else for a bit and hope they sort it out. If you’re the only one getting the error, though, you might consider doing some troubleshooting on your end. How do you know if you’re the only one getting the error? You could try the checking BungieHelp on Twitter, or you could hit up the DestinyTheGame subreddit and see what’s happening there.
If the problem is on your end, consider checking other internet enabled devices in your home and seeing if you can get online. If you’re on the PS4 or Xbox One, perhaps try another online game, or check that those services are working properly.
Should the problem persist and if you’re certain it’s on your end, visit the Bungie Network Troubleshooting guide for more assistance. Some of it will be common sense for the tech savvy Guardians out there, but it’s best to stick to official channels when taking advice about a specific problem with a specific game.
