What is QuakeCon?
This will be the 21st year of QuakeCon, originally created as a gathering for fans of id Software's Doom and Quake games, but has since expanded to cover all of Bethesda Softworks' games since the company acquired id back in 2009. Last year alone, more than 8,600 people attended the event.
When is QuakeCon 2017?
QuakeCon 2017 is right around the corner, starting a bit later this year than is year's past. The event starts on August 24 and runs through August 27.

QuakeCon 2017 will be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, TX.

What is the BYOC?
QuakeCon has also been know for its massive BYOC area (that's Bring Your Own Computer for the layman), and Shackers usually attend in decent numbers. Bring your regular PC rig, or gawk at the creativity of those who build out some amazing case mods for their comp.
What Special Events are Scheduled for QuakeCon 2017?
This year, QuakeCon has several events planned:
- $5,000 BYOC QuakeWorld Tournament
- Cosplay contest
- Single-player challenges for Dishonored 2, Quake, Prey and Doom
- Tabletop competitions
- $1 million Quake World Championship finals
What Game Demos are Likely To Be Shown at QuakeCon 2017?
