my husband did a dna test on ancestry or one of those other sites and ended up finding like 8 half-siblings he never knew about. turns out his mom's fertility doctor is his real bio-father.

Genuinely awful. I'm at a larger company (Google) now but it feels way more moral. I remember at HP being on calls where Program Managers would explicitly say "don't document this decision, it could be used against us in court if we were sued".

This used to be a straight road

So I went and test drove a new Ford Mustang Mach-E, and it’s pretty amazing!

…but I got read-ended at a stoplight 🥺

I was just stopped there for 5 or 10 seconds, and I saw this guy in a Ford Explorer coming at me really fast and not really slowing down, and sure enough, he just keeps going and eventually at the last moment swerves and smashes into the driver side tail light. We pull over, and the guy gets out and apologized and explains that he was putting face cream on and got some in his eye.

Anyway, my gf and I are fine after a bit of neck pain that evening, but we did have to sit there for two hours waiting for the cops, and chatting with the Ford salesman who had to drive over and wait also.

Really hoping this doesn’t end up involving me or my insurance, since we were obviously just sitting there at a stoplight. Pretty optimistic so far.

Pretty bad luck for the Ford dealership, since I didn’t really have any intentions of actually buying anything for at least like six months.

My son is now a Nurse working at the hospitial, he was planing on being a eng before he got cancer and then decided to go that route instead.

Super proud of him for all that he has gone through and now working as a nurse. He had his first day a few days ago and I asked how it went.

"I cleaned a dead body and bagged it"


WTF well I was not expecting that for a response.

Last night when he got home I asked how his day was

"I watched someone die and then had to clean the body"

WTF .....


I looked at him and told him are you fine with this , I mean anything else you want to do, he just responds with nope this is part of the job I would not change anything about what I am doing..

Just ordered the LG OLED 97" G2!

Took about 2 years of convincing my wife the room needed it haha. We sit about 25' back from the TV so believe it or not the room needs a big big TV. I'm anti projector and very very pro OLED so when this thing released last month I've been itching to make this happen.

Beach Camera in NJ has a special AVSForum deal and I found a reshipper that would move it from Florida. They've warned me once the TV gets dropped off in Orlando the warranty ends so I'm taking a gamble but fingers crossed it makes it onto my wall without too much trouble....

I need a thread with a decent amount of replies (150+ would be nice) and posts in that thread that have various amounts of lol tags on them to do some performance tuning on my .NET MAUI chatty app and there aren't any that are going to live very long today.
