Stormrise Screenshots: Angry Monster

Publisher Sega has unleashed a giant, scary-looking monster in a few new screenshots for Stormrise, the futuristic strategy game from Total War series creator Creative Assembly.

The game was originally announced as a console exclusive, made only for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but hardware maker AMD outed a PC version is also in the works.

Featuring a story with a post-apocalyptic world following a monster invasion, Stormrise will hit sometime next year.

Far Cry 2 DLC Adds Weapons, Vehicles and Maps

A downloadable "Fortune's Pack" will add new weapons, vehicles and maps to the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions of Far Cry 2 next week, publisher Ubisoft has announced.

Pricing was not disclosed, nor was the possibility of a PC release for the content. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the open-world shooter was released in late October, and has since sold over one million units.

The Fortune's Pack DLC will contain the following:

Rise of the Argonauts Delayed Again, More Screenshots and Trailers Arrive

Liquid Entertainment's Rise of the Argonauts has suffered another delay and is now expected to hit store shelves in early 2009, publisher Codemasters has revealed.

The mythology-heavy PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 action-RPG was originally slated to hit in November, but was recently postponed. At the time, Codemasters expressed hope that the title would still be released before Christmas.

ArmA 2 Screenshots: Man Down

Developer Bohemia Interactive today released four new in-game screenshots from the PC version of its upcoming military simulator sequel, ArmA 2.

The shots were taken from an "in-game HD video," slated for release next week.

The PC version of ArmA 2 hits Europe in early 2009, published by 505 Games, with PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions also in the works. No details have been announced regarding the inevitable North American release

Assassin's Creed Invades Prince of Persia

Teasing that "there are many secrets hiding," publisher Ubisoft today revealed that Prince of Persia will sport several unlockable outfits, also noting that the cartoony platforming game has gone gold and entered the manufacturing process.

Giving the Prince the appearance of the Assassin's Creed lead, the Altair skin can be earned by linking a PlayStation Network or Xbox Live account with an Ubisoft.com account, which can be created at PrinceofPersia.com.

It's the second time Altair has appeared in a non-Assassin's Creed game, the first being an unlockable skin in Kojima Production's Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3).

Those that pre-order the title from GameStop will receive a free code to unlock the Sands of Time skin, mirroring the Prince's look from the previous trilogy, reports IGN.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Prince of Persia hits PS3 and Xbox 360 on December 2, with a PC release due December 9. The studio is also at work on an Assassin's Creed sequel, though no timeline has been offered as to its release.

Update: The first screenshots of The Lost and Damned DLC have arrived.

Original Story: Rockstar Games today announced that downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto 4 will not be released this holiday season, dating the new episode for February 17 of next year.

Titled "The Lost and Damned," the DLC will center around a new main character, and features a plot that intersects with the main storyline of the original game. The DLC will also include new multiplayer modes, weapons, vehicles and music.

Pricing will be announced at a later date.

Firebrand's Nintendo DS entry in Nadeo's well-received arcade racing franchise TrackMania will fishtail into North American retailers on March 17.

The date was announced by Atlus, which will be handling the title's publishing duties in North America. New screenshots were also released, with the final game said to feature "over 100 tracks geared for blazing fast racing action" and a track editor.

LucasArts Veteran Releases New PC Adventure Game Vampyre Story

Developer Autumn Moon today released A Vampyre Story, a classic-style point-and-click PC adventure game created and written by former LucasArts artist Bill Tiller.

The humorous and whimsical game follows an opera singer and her mischievous bat as she come to terms with her gloomy vampiric afterlife after an untimely demise.

During his nine years at LucasArts, Tiller worked on many fondly remembered adventure games, including The Curse of Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, and The Dig. He also worked on a cancelled Full Throttle sequel, Payback.

Priced at $29.99, A Vampyre Story is now available to purchase and download from GamersGate. Other "decent" download services should get the game soon, according to the official blog, with a free demo now available at FileShack.

New Grand Theft Auto 4 PC Trailer and Screenshots: The Video Editor

As Rockstar prepares the unleash the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV on December 2, the company has provided a number of new screenshots and sample movies from the video editor tool packed in the PC release of the open-world action game.

Rockstar stressed that all the videos were made with the tools included in the PC version. Once the game arrives, players will be able to share their created films via Rockstar's community website Social Club TV.

Midway's Wheelman Delivers Diesel on February 16, New Screenshots Arrive

Midway Newcastle's Vin Diesel-starring driving-action game Wheelman will hit PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 16, 2009, Midway announced today.

Originally slated to arrive in 2007, the oft-delayed open-world effort was co-produced by "action-film megastar" Diesel, with his production company, Tigon Studios, said to have worked on the game "in close partnership" with Midway Newcastle.

Both Tigon and Midway expect an eventual feature film, with a script in development.

"This is not just another run-of-the-mill, licensed Hollywood knock-off," asserted Midway CEO Matt Booty. "Wheelman features revolutionary new game design mechanics like cinematic super moves and vehicular combat. Once you experience Wheelman's Vehicle Melee, you'll never want to play another driving game without it!"

Street Fighter 2 HD Remix Inadvertently Dated

Backbone Entertainment's long, long-awaited Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will arrive as an Xbox Live Arcade download come Wednesday, November 26, according to a newly released screenshot from publisher Capcom.

The image, left, details the SSF2THDR "branded destination experience" that debuts as part of the New Xbox Experience tomorrow. According to Capcom, it's "a central place for Xbox Live Arcade gamers to learn about new content, view the latest trailers, and access downloadable content [for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix]."

Capcom had previously promised that the downloadable fighter would arrive within November, implying that the PlayStation 3 release should arrive when the PlayStation Store updates on the following Thursday, November 27.

A price point for SSF2THDR has yet to be announced.

Rumor: Leaked Gears of War 2 Screenshots Show New Map

A new batch of screenshots have appeared for Epic's Gears of War 2 (360), showing an unreleased multiplayer map covered in Imulsion, the energy-filled natural resource central to the shooter's backstory.

The screenshots reproduced above appeared on the Flickr page of user yourichurkoff and are generally believed to be legitimate. Two multiplayer modes, King of the Hill and Guardian, can be seen in action on the map.

The screenshots have sparked speculation that the map is downloadable content set to be released in the future.

Microsoft has not commented on the screenshots. However, as the original game offered DLC multiplayer maps, and the sequel was part of a new generation of games to ship with DLC in the box, downloadable expansions to Gears of War 2 are expected.

The US Army has released a set of comparison screenshots from the upcoming 3.0 version of America's Army, the free-to-play military sim and recruiting tool.

Version 3.0, powered by Unreal Engine 3, is bringing along some popular maps from the current edition, including the Pipeline level shown below. In all, six screenshots show familiar areas that have been updated with greater graphical detail.

Following hints of a fitness-oriented Wii game, Electronic Arts today announced that it is inviting players to "break a sweat" though a new line of fitness products, beginning with EA Sports Active for the Wii.

Priced at $69.99, Active will ship with two "specially-designed leg straps" that hold the Wii Nuncuk and track lower body movement, along with a resistance band for upper-body exercises. The title will not require, but will be compatible with, the Wii Balance Board accessory that comes packed with Nintendo's Wii Fit.

The game is said to sport "a new level of motivation with on-screen, real-time feedback on your workout" and is being designed "specifically for women seeking a simple and cost-effective way to achieve a healthy lifestyle." In addition to a 30 Day Challenge feature and daily 20-minute workouts, it will let players create a custom workout routine.

Due out next spring, EA Sports Active is being developed at EA Vancouver in collaboration with fitness experts, including Oprah's personal trainer Bob Greene.

"One of the most frequent questions I am asked is how to get fit at home--especially from busy moms," explained Greene. "Active provides a fun and effective workout that targets your upper body, lower body, and gets your heart pumping in just 20 minutes."
