The latest entry in Jordan Mechner's acclaimed Prince of Persia platforming series will hit PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on December 2, publisher Ubisoft has announced.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Prince of Persia ditches the time rewind feature found in the past three PoP games. Instead, the game is said to focus more on one-on-one combat and platforming, including the ability to run on the ceiling.

Ubisoft Casablanca's cutesy Nintendo DS release, titled Prince of Persia: The Fallen King, is slated to accompany the console game in its journey to stores on December 2.

Following yesterday's announcement of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Fallen King, the publisher has released a single screenshot and two pieces of concept art for the DS edition of its stylized series reboot. Apparently shooting for a much different art style and tone than its PC and console counterparts, Prince of Persia: The Fallen King launches this holiday season.

Ubisoft has officially revealed Prince of Persia: The Fallen King, the previously announced Nintendo DS edition of its platformer series reboot.

Taking a cue from its PC and console counterparts, The Fallen King features an art style similar to the illustrative look employed in the upcoming console titles, and utilizes stylus controls to bring the familiar acrobatic combat action to the handheld.

As part of a story closely tied to the upcoming console titles, The Fallen King introduces a second playable character called the Magus. Players can switch between the two characters to utilize their unique abilities and progress through the various stages in the game.

As with the new Prince of Persia's PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 incarnations, The Fallen King is scheduled to arrive at retailers this holiday season.
