Prince of Persia HD Trilogy Coming Exclusively to PSN; Sands of Time Launches Today

Ubisoft community manager Patrick Brod revealed that the Prince of Persia Trilogy is coming to the PlayStation Network exclusively, in a post on the PlayStation Blog.

"These PS2 classics have been upgraded with HD graphics and are ready for 3D-enabled televisions for the first time ever," Brod wrote, noting that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time would be made available today.

Previously rumored as a retail release, Ubisoft confirmed a Prince of Persia HD Trilogy was coming to the PS3 in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Although the disc was not revealed for North America, Ubisoft listed the three prev-gen Prince of Persia titles as PSN releases in first-half of the year financial report, yesterday. Inquires by Shacknews regarding the listing were not answered.

Each upgraded title will run in 720p and will be priced at $14.99. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones will launch in December.

Bleh I bought the trilogy on steam during the Christmas sale because the 3 games are gems to me and I must have them. I just want HD graphics for my PC copies too :\

The textures and stuff look the same. What is "HD" about these beyond the upscaled resolution? 1280x720 is something your PC versions can surpass
