Report: Microsoft Looking for Studio to Revive Project Gotham Racing Franchise
Bizarre Creations, the franchise developer, was acquired by Activision during the development of PGR4 back in 2007. The rights to the franchise, however, remained with Microsoft. Bizarre went on to create Blur for Activision along with the James Bond 007: Blood Stone, which will be released tomorrow.
Forza developer Turn 10 Studios seems like an obvious choice for Microsoft, but Develop suggests that the project could end up with an out-of-house studio. Turn 10 is working on a Forza project that will utilize Microsoft's Kinect sensor in some capacity, which was shown at E3.

I still wonder though how you gonna brake and such with Forza Kinect

Personally, I'd rather use actual foot pedals, and have the Kinect do head tracking, and maybe steering.
I already made my decision with my "GT5 Prologue arcade machine" (a.k.a. PS3 slim 120 GB running 3.30 that has never connected to the Internet, and a GT5 Prologue Greatest Hits disc); my current control scheme is to bind R2 to throttle, and square for brake (I tried using L2 for brake, but I kept getting messed up with the steering, so I went back to square for brake). I did try using the right analog stick for throttle/brake, but I couldn't react as fast.
I'll probably eventually spring for a steering wheel set, as I'd rather use my right foot to control an analog accelerator / brake control, and have a physical steering wheel so I can know what position the wheel is at (that's my biggest gripe with the left analog stick for steering, as I keep putting in too much steering input in some turns and pushing some turns to the point where I have to brake early or almost spin out).
I'd have to wonder what the Kinect lag would be in a Forza Kinect; I tried out the Need for Speed Wii game once, and it had terrible lag, to the point where I couldn't be aggressive at all.
