Minecraft Team Expands, Accepting Job Applications

16
Minecraft, the innovative indie game of collaborative creation (or destruction), has doubled its development team... from one to two. Well, maybe three.

The massive influx of staff comes in the form of former CEO of Ludosity Interactive, Daniel Kaplan, who will serve as the game's business developer and "the other secret guy with the game idea we're going to make."

Ludosity was responsible for the 2009 game Bob Came in Pieces and Kaplan's addition to the team will allow former solitary developer Markus "Notch" Persson to focus primarily on building the game.

The team is forming a company, Mojang Specifications, which is accepting job applications for those currently living in Sweden. Minecraft is currently in the alpha stages, but access to the current version can be had for 9.95 EUR (around $13) via Minecraft.net.

If you're interested in checking out Minecraft with some Shacknews community members, you can check out one of the numerous threads raging about the game almost every day. Here's a good one to start with.

Paying 13$ for this games has turned out to be the best gaming investment I've ever made. I love Minecraft. More developers need to look into making "completely open world" style games. Super grats to the developer for starting his own company!

Good games don't have to be expensive. Recettear, Mount & Blade, Torchlight... all great games that I bought for $20 or less off of Steam.

I've already put more hours into this 'alpha' level game than most full games in the past two years.

Same, I got my moneys worth for sure and I convinced 5+ of my friends to buy it. They're all addicted now too!
