Is the PSP that desperate that they have to give away games for the darn thing?

yes. something to offset the ridiculous cost of the Go, which they basically admitted is too expensive.

Giving away games isn't bad, that's what pack-in games are and Wii Sports sure helped sales of the Wii. (although a system that launches with no pack-in games and then has to resort to them is a little sad).

What's sad is that they're giving away so many of them. 1-3 games? Sure. Ten games sounds way desperate.

I've been considering picking up a PSP lately, but there's no way in hell I'd get a PSP Go.

I have a PSP3000 and I'd much prefer a PSP Go due to portability. I hardly ever play my PSP because it's too big to fit comfortably in my pocket, and my UMD's are annoying to carry around.

But the Go is far too expensive and ever since getting an iPhone my interest in the PSP has sadly waned.

Well the problem with the PSP Go for you is that your UMD investment is lost. Also, Square recently put out a game (or is about to) that won't be on the PSP Go because it's too big.

The PSP Go, as it's implemented now, is just a bad idea
