Sony and Insomniac Games have officially announced Resistance 3 at Gamescom 2010.

[Update 6:09PM] We have added the live action teaser video:

Back in October, the game was seemingly revealed in a billboard on a movie set, reportedly for Sony's Battle: Los Angeles, which is due out in March 2011. Nowadays, people have to plan their product placement out well in advance.

"Since the release of Resistance 2, we've listened to your feedback to help fine-tune what we know will become a respected addition to the franchise," explains Insomniac in a press release. "Our Burbank studio has done a phenomenal job of crafting a cruel and brutal Resistance 3 world."

The logo, which matches the one from the movie set, seems to suggest that at least part of the game will take place in New York City as the Statue of Liberty is clearly visible.

No release date has been announced, but I'm guessing we won't be seeing Resistance 3 until fall 2011 as Killzone 3 is already queued up for a February 2011 release.

I liked these games aside from the stupid controller, I would much prefer a KB/M

The games are just ok for me. Nothing truly standout or memorable.

For an FPS on a console I thought the feel of the controls to be of the best that I've played.

Yeah it wasnt that bad, I just always prefer gaming with a kb/m when it comes to a FPS or 3rd person shooter

Ya I hear ya. Funny, I actually like a controller better on 3rd person action games like AC or Infamous. But yes KB/Mouse is best on FPS.

Funny you mention AC, when I played the second game I mainly used KB/M but there were a couple parts especially in the tombs that I could not do with the KB/M, it was the wall run jump (left/right) I could not get it to work on KB/M so I had to use the 360 controller to pull it off.

It actually controlled pretty well for a controller.
