Tropico 4 Announced for 2011
Helmed by Tropico 3 developer Haemimont Games, Tropico 4 will feature a new campaign of twenty missions across ten maps. Other shiny newness includes twenty buildings such as "Stock Exchange, Shopping mall, Aqua Park and a Mausoleum to El Presidente," six disasters including "volcanoes, droughts and tornadoes," a Council of Ministers and trading with other nations. Plus, ah, Facebook and Twitter integration.
Tropico 4 is due in the second quarter of 2011. While only a PC edition is confirmed so far, Kalypso promises that "News on a possible console version of Tropico 4 will be made available soon." Tropico 3 was released on both PC and Xbox 360.

I thoroughly enjoyed Tropico 3, so I'll definitely be looking forward to this! I hope they streamline the transportation issues in T3 though. Having to build a giant garage whenever you needed a quick transit point for your people was unwieldy and annoying. Something like a bus system would probably work better.

About public transport, yes this is an issue, also trying to keep the garages "balanced" and the teamsters / construction offices all together was a bit of a hassle. I always had best results when making a ring shaped "outer" highway like an 8 with 4 garages in the middle and 3 around each loop, worked fine (not good for small islands of course).
