[Update: 6:25pm] THQ has told Shacknews that "no details" regarding Games for Windows Live support for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine are being announced at this time.

[Original Story] For PC users experiencing a serious lack of balding space marines, we have some good news for you this afternoon. THQ has just announced its upcoming third-person action-shooter Warhammer: 40,000: Space Marine is headed to the PC alongside previously announced Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

"The loyal PC audience is incredibly important to us here at Relic so we are delighted to be able to announce the PC version of the game," Relic Entertainment general manager Jonathan Dowdeswell said in a press release announcing the PC version. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is scheduled to hit stores in early 2011.

Developed by Relic Entertainment, Space Marine puts players in the role of "one of humanity's elite warriors" and the "last line of defense." Essentially, shoot anything that isn't you.

Shacknews has contacted THQ to confirm whether or not Space Marine will follow previous Warhammer titles in the company's catalog and feature Games for Windows Live support on the PC. At the time of publishing the company had yet to respond.
