Microsoft Reveals Halo: Reach-branded Xbox 360 Hardware Bundle

Microsoft has just confirmed a Halo: Reach Xbox 360 hardware bundle will be made available alongside Bungie's final Halo title on September 14, 2010, with an MSRP of $400.

Earlier today we reported rumors that the console bundle was in the works; however Microsoft would not confirm its existence until moments ago following a reveal at Comic-Con 2010.

(Close up images of the limited edition console and its packaging, via Major Nelson, can be found in our Halo: Reach gallery.)

Additionally, Microsoft revealed a $50 Halo: Reached-themed wireless headset and a $60 Halo: Reach controller will be released in late-August. The controller includes an Xbox Live token for an "animated Covenant Banshee Avatar item." The bundle and accessories will only be available for a limited time.

Halo: Reach Xox 360 Bundle Includes:
  • Limited edition silver Xbox 360 "S Model" console with Halo branding
  • Two (2) Halo: Reach-branded Silver Xbox 360 Controllers
  • 250GB hard drive
  • Halo: Reach software (Standard Edition)
  • "Halo: Reach"-themed Xbox 360 wired headset
  • Token for the Limited Edition Elite armor set
  • An episode of "Halo Legends"

I knew that Microsoft was going to do this. I just knew it. While it is neither a good thing nor a bad thing, its nice to know that Microsoft believes this much in the Halo franchise. Maybe now we'll get our freaking movie!

COME ON MICROSOFT, MAKE IT HAPPEN ALREADY DAMN IT!

i do want to get the 360s model eventually. im not sure about this one though. the decals arent that great on the console, although major nelson has said that it will make halo noises upon startup and when the tray is ejected....

my Elite works fine for now and i really want to get the legendary edition of Reach, which doesn't come with this.

That makes me hope that the sounds are changeable as in upgradeable (for a cost I'm sure). Still, that'd be something I'd actually notice.
