replyThese Microsoft sales make me feel anxious and vaguely depressed.
Maybe it's because, in other venues, "Deal of the Week" implies something exciting. But here I see that it's a couple scraps of expansion content offered with an extremely minor discount. Part of me feels a rush of superstitious dread, as if someone somewhere is playing a trick on me...-
How I imagine the meetings at Microsoft and Sony went when they first heard about digital distribution companies like Steam:
"Hey, now there's an idea. By selling games and other content digitally, we cut out the extra cost of marketing and packaging."
"And then we pass that savings onto the consumers, allowing them to purchase more games at lower prices and become loyal customers, right?"
