Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days Gets Earlier Release Date

It would seem as though gun-toting malcontents Kane & Lynch are getting paroled a bit earlier than expected for their next game. IO Interactive has revealed that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days has gone gold, and will hit retail stores one week earlier than previously announced.

The duo now begins their escape from the Shanghai underworld on August 17 in North America, and throughout Europe on August 20. Japan retains it's original launch date of August 26.

"The team has worked hard to deliver a game that's different from the current trend of third-person shooters and we're so pleased to be able to share it with the world ahead of schedule," said Niels Jörgensen, general manager of IO Interactive. "With development now complete, why keep people waiting any longer? We want to let gamers experience the game we've created and get them online betraying their friends in Fragile Alliance, so we have decided to bring the release date forward by one week."

It's always nice when a new game comes out earlier than expected. In Kane & Lynch 2's case, the earlier release also means that the game no longer shares a release date with 2K Czech's highly-anticipated third-person shooter Mafia II.

it's a shame they made the demo such a pain in the ass to get, because it's vastly superior to the first game and they need as many people to realize that as soon as they can before the game comes out. perhaps they'll make it available to the masses soon.

i wrote more about it here:

I really like the first one, from what I have scene about this one (ver 2) its billions of light years ahead of ver 1 so I am getting it for PC day 1.

      Gona be good.

Yeah they really need to put out a demo on all platforms if they hope to compete with Mafia II.

What they have to realize is if they want this to reach the masses to get its place out there, they need to stop releasing these exclusivity demos for the X360. I have interest in it but wont buy it until I play a demo, which, obviously won't be happening for the PS3 anytime soon.

With zero post-release support or patches on the pc side on the first do you think that the demo really shows they deserve another bite at the apple?

After I read about how broken the first was I just figured it wasn't worth the effort.
