Nintendo 3DS Unveiled
The upper screen is a 3.5-inch widescreen display that "will show you full 3D graphics without the need for special glasses," company president Satoru Iwata explained. "We have installed a '3D depth slider' to adjust the 3D effect, You can maximize or you can remove the 3D altogether."
As with the existing Nintendo DS, only the bottom screen is touch-sensitive. Meanwhile, the top-screen will be the one to display the vaunted three-dimensional visuals.
In addition, the hardware features a motion sensor, gyro, cameras capable of capturing three-dimensional images, plus the ability to play Hollywood films in 3D.
Additional details, such as pricing, were not provided. Upon announcing the Nintendo 3DS earlier this year, Nintendo vowed it would launch before the end of March 2011.
