The first batch of tickets for StarCraft maker Blizzard's annual gaming festival BlizzCon are just a few hours away, with online sales set to begin today, June 2, at 7 p.m. Pacific.

Tickets are priced at $150 each, with the event itself running October 22 and 23 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. Among the festival's activities are "discussion panels, competitive and casual tournaments, contests, hands-on playtime with current and upcoming Blizzard Entertainment games" such as StarCraft II and Diablo III, with attendees getting a special BlizzCon-exclusive in-game World of Warcraft item.

A second batch of tickets will go on sale this Saturday, June 7, at 10 a.m. Pacific. "Those interested in attending BlizzCon can simplify the purchase process by registering a Battle.net account at www.battle.net before ticket sales begin," says Blizzard.

For those unable (or unwilling) to make it to BlizzCon 2010, DirecTV will be offering a live multi-channel video feed of the festivities to Internet and DirecTV users for $39.95.

Winner! I'm worried all the hotels will be booked up months in advance and our plans aren't set yet.

There is so little to do at blizzcon, can get the majority of things wrapped up in 3-4 hours unless you want to listen to blizz staff talk about aspects of the game.
