MLB 2K10 $1 Million 'Perfect Game' Prize Won on First Day
"It was actually my wife who convinced me to go for it," said 24-year old winner Wade McGilberry of Semmes, Alabama. "I never thought I'd actually win a million dollars playing a video game, it's all still sinking in for me."
Players had to record their perfect game--a victory where no member of the opposing team so much as reaches first base--then submit it for verification by 2K Games, who were assisted by video games record adjudicators Twin Galaxies. Young Mister McGilberry turned out to be the first player to achieve the accomplishment.

Wow, it only took him 5 tries to pitch the perfect game

Also, the winner is quoted as saying he kept losing in exactly the 5th inning, which is evidence there's some silly non performance based parameters for what happens when you make contact with the ball.
I play 2P with a buddy of mine and clearly there is a catch-up scheme in place as well, whereby if you are down by many runs you're much more likely to get a big hit. But It seems Madden has been doing that for years and no one cares either.
