The Grinder Switches Perspectives on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Staying FPS on Wii

While developer High Voltage still plans on bringing The Grinder to other platforms than just the Wii, it turns out that those other versions won't be of the same genre.

The Wii version of the Left 4 Dead-inspired supernatural shooter is still planned as a first-person shooter, the Conduit series developer tells IGN, but the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will be a top-down third-person effort similar to the studio's previous work Hunter: The Reckoning. No mention was made of the PC version.

"We have invested more than year into the Wii; the game is extremely fun, and frankly, we wouldn't want to see that work 'thrown away,'" explained chief creative officer Eric Nofsinger. "But when we decided to add the 360 and PS3 platforms it didn't seem to make much sense to jump on the rainbow chasing treadmill of trying to do the same game for such dissimilar consoles and end up short changing one or the other."

High Voltage had previously revealed that the additional versions would cause The Grinder to miss its initial "holiday 2010" release window, with the developer now targeting October 2011, provided that it can find a publishing partner for the game.

Hunter: The Reckoning was awesome on the Xbox.

The should just make a follow up to Hunter, maybe that is what this will be sort of?

    Could be good...

Hunter would be a good online game.
