Despite the undead addition, Grahame-Smith's rewrite remains surprisingly true to Austen's original--the overall story remains the same, just with a bit more zombie-killing action--and has proved so popular as to inspire an entire line of such rewrites (Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, Android Karenina) along with the possibility of a theatrical feature film.
