Supreme Commander 2 Steam Fix: Re-Verify Cache

7
Users are reporting that Supreme Commander 2, which uses Steamworks as its DRM, will not properly launch through Steam despite being released officially at midnight PST last night.

Users may see a "game is unavailable" error when attempting to launch Chris Taylor's latest RTS. If this is the case, please refer to the following troubleshooting steps:

Supreme Commmander 2 works now after you re-verify your game cache: Right Click "Supreme Commander 2" in your Game Library > Properties > Local files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache > Let it Finish > Launch Game.

I can confirm that this works and that the game is up and running.

These instructions are bogus. Everyone has been trying that since 10PM PST when the game was released last night. It did not work.

If it works now, it's because they actually unfucked themselves this morning (in the last half hour) and this method now works around the problem.

The game went live according to steam ("100% complete!") and the webpage (Available now in north america!) at 10 PM PST. At 10 PM PST, and 2 AM PST, and 9 AM PST, re-verifying the cache did not work.

Just pointing out that they are trying to make it look like they didn't fuck up the release time, as if we could have done this at any point and played the game, which is not true.

This worked for me, although I've run it several times this morning.

      It didn't work doesn't = it won't work.

      Thanks, Mr Leahy!!
