Battlefield 1943, Bad Company 2 PC System Requirements Revealed
Bad Company 2 lands on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 2, with the PC version boasting various improvements over the console editions. Battlefield 1943 is slated for a PC release in the first quarter of 2010, having hit PS3 and 360 in July.

big games like this need to start releasing a benchmarking tool instead of stats like this, especially considering that clock speed and GPU power are no longer the dominant naming convention among manufacturers

One thing I think game makers should be including is what resolution they're running at for each level of requirements. Sure the game may run at the minimum requirements, but it'll only get an acceptable framerate at, say, 1024x768. Even the recommended requirements may only be enough for 1440x900 which leaves anyone who wants to run at 1920x1200 or larger guessing how much horsepower they'll need.

From my experience the minimum requirements are usually set a notch higher than necessary, they are quite tolerant actually.
What would be really neat is a website or app named "Will it run?" with different comparison charts.
Basically you pick together your game and compare it to a current profile of your PC - then you get a basic information like "Yes it will run, but you will never have more than 20 FPS" or "No will not run" with Reason "Game XY needs minimum dual core CPU" or full "DirectX 10 compatability needed" etc.
