The Who: Rock Band Coming Next Year?

The plan for a new band-specific Rock Band game may have been spoiled by The Who lead singer Roger Daltrey, who stated in a new interview that the legendary group is getting the Harmonix treatment next year.

"They're going to be doing a Who one next year," said Daltrey to Masslive, in giving his thoughts on this year's The Beatles: Rock Band.

"There is one planned," he added. "[The idea] is fabulous."

While the default assumption is that the aged rocker was referring to DLC, The Who has already been featured as Rock Band DLC several times. Harmonix has said nothing, of course.

they are releasing way too many games for this genre.. I went from "oh sweet a new GH\RB" to "oh christ not an other GH\RB" ..

I'll buy Led Zep if the manage to sign them other than that I'm done with plastic guitars

  So first you say that there's too many games in this genre, but then you say you'd buy one if the right one came out.
  
  You know, you don't have to buy all these games. Maybe the reason they're coming out with so many is to cover the gamut and cover all the artists people like.

    well I'm too stone on Motrin right now to argue in english but to make it simple
    
    release 1 game every year/2year ill buy them all
    release 10 game a year I won't buy any

      That makes no sense. If you want to play just one or two music games a year, couldn't you just buy one or two music games? No one is forcing you to buy "Guitar Hero: Flock of Seagulls".
      
      "Rawrr, too many FPS games! I don't care how good Bioshock is, I refuse to buy it since there are too many similar games out there! HULK SMASH!"

    Exactly. I've never understand the complete about "too many games". Are there too many FPS games? Too many RPGs? Too many sports games? Hell, we don't just have one of every sport--there are MULTIPLE football games. But you don't have to buy Madden '10 and NCAA Football '10. Nor do you have to buy the new one every year.
    
    And really, at least with the Harmonix games, even the new titles preserve your investment: you can import the songs from RB1 and Lego RB into Rock Band 2. You can have pretty much ALL your songs available in one game, including the hundreds and hundreds of available DLC songs (with the notable exception of all The Beatles songs, which can only be played in that one game).
    
    My only concern about the glut of music games (especially the GH shovelware) is its diluting effect on the market. This thread is exactly what I'm talking about: the OP is turned off by all the released games, which could hurt the industry. As long as Harmonic keeps adding new songs, I'm happy.
