"They'll tell of the ancient Feraldens. They'll tell of the strife with the Devinter empire long ago. They'll tell of the great, wondrous battles that have taken place," says Dragon Age designer Ferret Baudoin of the game's environments in this short dev diary.

An interesting note is that the BioWare dev team used the Neverwinter Nights engine to prototype Dragon Age levels before finally crafting them for the final game.

I can't tell you about the ancient Feraldens, but I can tell you that Dragon Age arrives on PC and Xbox 360 on November 3, with the PS3 release following later that month.

They should have been putting these out earlier. They really make the game look so much more interesting and not some one dimensional sex and gore romp.

Yeah, this definitely got my interest much more than any of the other recent marketing material.

        Agreed. That actually looked promising.

Yeah, this was a good trailer. No gameplay, but I definitely like these kind of behind-the-scenes things with talk of development processes, concept art, changes to design over time, that sort of thing.

I wish more developers both did these kinds of videos, and (if there were time) included more robust making-of docs in the final game.

Agreed. The tits, blood, and heavy metal really only made me think they were probably also ruining the actual game too.

Definitely intriguing when they publicize it this way. DA looks interesting again.
