Star Wars: The Old Republic Beta Signups Open
For a chance at testing the PC MMO before its as-yet-undated launch, those interested will need to register at the game's official site, select the pre-release testing option from their account page, then fill in the necessary details and "submit a system scan."
"Testing will be an ongoing process, and spots are limited, so people need to sign up early to give them the best possible chance of getting selected," wrote LucasArts.

Really?
First off respect to Java ,no disrespect I was a JSP/ J2EE developer for a long time.
Well if you think they are the same and there is no difference I would advise you to try some web applications and see how long it takes you to make 2 apps on the different techs and then compare what you had to do and the time it took etc.
Look up Silver Light 3, and WPF stuff.
If you would try to develop with .NET using visual studio for web apps or windows applications you would never want to use anything else in my opinion (compared to Java environment etc) I would never use Java again.
Java has nothing like Silver Light 3 or WPF that is comparable for a start, I find it really hard even comparing the two things they are sort of totally different now Java world .NET world in my opinion.

you know there's JavaFX, dont you !!!
I dont think your argument about java being inferior is correct, google and IBM and Oracle use Java and i dont think that's for nothing. Let's not forget that Java Developers are paid higher than .Net and demand is increasing on them. I dont think all of that is for nothing.-
Yes I have heard of it but have not used it, so I can not make a comment about it.
The reason they get paid more is because its freeking hard and takes alot of time to get things to work and create things. As well maintenance is not easy there are many components you have to re deploy etc.
If JavaFX, jsp , j2ee or what ever else they have now can:
-create all of it interface and UI elements in Vector graphics
- use multi threading
- gpu shadder effects
- take advantage of your GPU for rendering
- eliminate the use of jpeg gif for ui
- use a a one button build to create either a .dll or a exe for you application or solution
- use a xml like mark up for describing the UI
- can be combined and talk bi directional with any regular .aspx web form, application, ajax, java script or any other web application technology
- can be deployed as a full application using back end web browser to run the application
- made into a installer or digital download or dvd
Then I take everything I said back about java.-

LOL "Open source is great, you want to build a house? NP there's the forest and that's your axe , good luck."
Best quote :), love it.
I will never use open source again now that I have been married .NET for many years. She (.NET) is sexy, has everything I want and all I have to do is ask for it, not to mention she will tipple check what she gives me against a bible. Add to that every year she goes under the knife and gets a boob job, face lift and the works, every year she looks sexier than the last. Also worth mentioning every year she keep inviting here new girl friends to the party and the party get better and bigger.

Just to let you know .NET and SilverLight 3 works on all web browsers (Mac, and Linux, etc) it is not Windows exclusive, FYI that is the beauty of the technology.
If you are talking about running IIS to host a .NET application yes that uses a Windows server but what does that have to do with my comment that Blizzard should use .NET for the web forms and web applications?
