Left 4 Dead 'Crash Course' DLC Arrives Tuesday
The download--free on PC, 560 MS Points ($7) on Xbox 360--brings new maps to the zombie shooter for use in Campaign and Versus. New Survival maps are included as well.
"The primary goal of Crash Course is to deliver a complete Versus mode experience in just 30 minutes, resulting in a streamlined version of the game's existing Versus campaigns," explained the company.
Though Left 4 Dead 2 is due out November 17, the company has pledged to "keep supporting Left 4 Dead 1," with more content apparently coming after Crash Course.

They only made this because of the L4D2 boycott, it's only 1/4th of a campaign, this game is only worth $20, I didn't get my money's worth, how dare they release a sequel so early, it should just be an expansion pack, i will not be buying l4d2, why wasn't this with the game originally, i can't believe it costs money on the xbox, why don't they put all the l4d2 stuff into l4d, why don't they fix corner camping?
Alright guys, I got it all out of the way for you!-

Uhm, "They promised us DLC! Boycott L4D2 because it should be an add-on!" " They made DLC, they only made it because we moaned."
They released a game that got a 89 on meta critic, 89 isn't half a game. They updated it; fixed problems, added a new mode, added more versus modes, changed game play for versus from what people have complained about, and countless other things. I have no doubt in my mind they will keep releasing DLC for free for L4D, and not because of the boycott, because of their actual fan base and not people who want free things from a company that goes beyond the call of duty.
You would be lucky to get even that for free from other companies. Microsoft made them charge for 360 DLC.
Please, complain more, I personally won't be missing you when I'm playing L4D2, a completely different game, not an expansion. An expansion is usually what they already had in the game (or what they didn't feel worked right with what they had) and said it would work better if we sold this for $20, not a reworked game code to fix things and change game play they were not expecting for that would take quite a big fix. Hence why they are making a new one.
Name one expansion for an FPS type game that changed how the game play is... while also adding new characters, enemies, ideas, campaigns, and included some of the same techniques in the first one without requiring the first one? Even if you can name a few, it still wouldn't change the fact that they do more than enough to please their fans. -

because you don't learn how to survive like this. there is 0 skill in corner camping, and you don't learn how to defend yourself properly. teams that use this tactic also take tons of damage from boomers if theres no corner for them to hide in, because they aren't familiar with covering in more than one direction.
plus, you can't do it in l4d2 so you'll have to re-learn how to play again anyway.

Ultimately MS can do whatever the hell they want. But I think the key is that Batman is a Sony title as well. Sony's giving it away which more or less forces MS's hand. Also, (I haven't played the Batman DLC yet so may be off base) the Batman DLC doesn't really have any new content. It's just two challenge maps, which are rooms already in the original game.

Ask MS, Eidos, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. I don't understand how you could reasonably expect Valve to answer for that. Valve has been trying to go toe to toe with MS to make their DL content free on Xbox. At the end of the day MS gets to make the rules about the content that is available on Xbox Live.
