Borderlands DLC Will Surprise, At Least Two Coming
"People are going to be surprised when they find out how quickly we're coming, and with what content we're coming," Eurogamer reports Pitchford saying in a Gamescom presentation. "Also, we're going to watch and see what happens when the game launches, so we can have our plans affected by what our customers want more of."
A Twitter post by Pitchford reveals "The first 2 Borderlands DLC packs will be all new - not stuff that was cut or held back!" Gearbox's Mikey Neumann told us at E3 that DLC is often birthed during the certification period--which Borderlands is currently in.
What happens a lot of the time is you finish your game and it's time for cert, and during cert a lot of bugs crop up that you have to fix, and a lot of them are really, really big bugs. You are certainly not adding any content to the game at all. A level? No way. But, during cert, if you have a lot of level designers who have nothing to do--which is pretty common, you pull level design and art off first--they're gonna be making cool shit and want to make cool shit. That cool shit, that tends to be what DLC ends up being. It's the stuff we couldn't add to the game because we're making it during cert, which is impossible to get into the [retail] game.
Check out our E3 impressions and the bombastic Comic-Con trailer for more on Borderlands, which is coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 20.

Does it still feature "drop-in, drop-out" co-op, d'you know? I saw it mentioned in one of the earlier walkthroughs... in that you can be playing the single-player game on your own with your level 30 character or whatever, and then your friend can just join right in with his level 50 character and give you some help on a particular mission etc., within your single player experience?
I really haven't seen any gameplay/walkthroughs since the very early stuff, and a lot could have changed since then (excusing some random Portugese-narrated thing or something that was posted on here a couple of weeks ago). -
