Red Orchestra 2 Equips Persistent Ranks, Screenshots
Multiplayer will be expanded with several new modes, plus persistent stat tracking and player progression to unlock weapons and items--ultimately becoming a visually-distinct 'Hero' who will "inspire troops around them and cause fear in their enemies."
Tripwire touts "true to life ballistics, bullet penetration, breathing, adjustable sights, free aim, weapon bracing... and more," plus a new first-person cover system with blind firing.
The game's two campaigns--one each for Russian and German sides--pack co-op support and focus on the Battle of Stalingrad between July 1942 and February 1943, curiously built from the game's multiplayer maps arranged into campaign order.
No release date been announced for the Unreal 3 Engine-powered shooter.

Red Orchestra is an underrated WWII shooter that is extremely realistic, but some people are disappointed at the fact that you're not a supersoldier with a rejuvenating shield and unlimited ammo.
I didn't even know a sequel was in the works. I can't wait to play the new version, and the addition of single player campaigns sound great!-

I think Red Orchestra pales in comparison to Resistance and Liberation (a HL2 mod). The latter game only has a scaled back Alpha release out so far, but I'm a part of the closed beta and I can confirm that this game rocks. Movement and combat is a lot more exciting than RO, but still maintains a no-hud, realistic gameplay with squads and large open maps (but no vehicles, thank god). Having all-talk on at all times, but limited to a 30 foot radius is awesome as well. Creates a lot of tense situations and requires you to stick with teammates otherwise you are totally cut off. You can also trash talk enemies.
