Never read any of these game 'adaptation' comics. Are they any good? I've seen WoW comics, SW comics, WAR comics?

I've not read them myself, but I've heard the WoW comics are reasonably decent.
Games Workshop used to make their own comic book anthology covering Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000. Like most anthologies, the quality varied. Some stuff was terrible, but a fair bit was great too. Now BOOM! Studios has the licenses, and once again some is good, some not so much.
From personal experience, the Silent Hill comics from IDW are a mixed bag. The first mini was called Dying Inside and was alright. The next one-shot, Among The Damned, was also decent, but not great.
After that was the one-shot Paint It Black, which was god awful. Not just the worst game adaptation I've read, but one of the worst comics in general.
Next came The Grinning Man, also a one-shot. Not great, not terrible.
After that was a mini called Dead/Alive which tried to tie together all the previous material. It had a few decent ideas, but overall it was a convoluted mess.
Nothing was published for a while, then last year came a mini called Sinner's Reward. All thge previous comics had been written by a guy named Scott Ciencin, but Sinner's Reward was written by Tom Waltz. Bucking the trend, Sinner's Reward is awesome. If you're a fan of the franchise, its worth reading.
