Alpha Protocol: The Espionage RPG: The Release Date

8
Obsidian's spy-themed action-RPG Alpha Protocol will ship off to North American retailers on October 6, publisher Sega has just announced.

The game is now tagged "The Espionage RPG," going by the box art issued today, with all three versions--PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360--to be released simultaneously.

In addition to Alpha Protocol, Obsidian has two other projects in the works--Fallout: New Vegas and a secret mystery title--with its Aliens RPG recently confirmed to be cancelled.

Yeah, that's a dumb subtitle. Seems like there could be a less kludgy way of getting across that your game is an rpg focused on spies... but maybe that's just me.

Regardless, I'm hoping this turns out to be good and, (above all), polished.

looks like they're trying to do what the Metal Gear Solid Series did, but there it worked because "Tactical Espionage Action" sounds cool and it wasn't ever really considered part of the title.

What about Fallout: "a post-nuclear role playing game"?

Having a cheesy subtitle for Fallout worked because the game's presentation was very tongue-in-cheek. Also, it was just "a" post-nuclear role-playing game, as opposed to "the" post-nuclear role playing game. When Alpha Protocol calls itself "the" espionage RPG, it's apparently forgetting about DX.
