New Wii Zelda Hopefully at E3 2010
"To be honest, at this E3 I wanted to announce a new Zelda for Wii," he said at a roundtable tonight, as reported by Gamasutra. "But we've already shown you a Zelda on Wii." Instead, he showed the crowd a piece of concept art from "the next game," detailing a realistic-looking Link. Sadly, attendees weren't allowed to photograph the art.
Alongside his hopes to showcase the as-yet-unannounced title at E3 2010, Miyamoto also noted that the game could require the sensitivity-increasing Wii MotionPlus add-on, though that depends on sales of the June 8-due peripheral and one other factor.
"I love action games, and bring in archery and swordplay, that's great for me, but some people love [Zelda] as an RPG, and like the simpler controls, so that's something I really have to think about," he mused.

just knowing that it's unofficially in the works is enough for me to be crazy excited for this.

Unofficial? Miyamoto himself said that it was in the works. Or did I misunderstand and you meant that you would be excited even if it was unofficial?
Anyway, I wouldn't be HALF as excited about this if it weren't for the fact that it will be compatible with Wii motion plus. I'm very happy that people are putting it to use in more than just sport games. -
If anything, you should be disappointed because this interview sort of reveals how little progress has been made towards the next Zelda game. Miyamoto doesn't even know if it will use motion plus or be more rpg like. He has no idea for a concept.
It could be two years before we even see a trailer. Then, if it's anything like Twilight Princess, three more years before it goes on store shelves.
So five years? That's a long time. The world will change.
By the way his comment - "you already have a Zelda on the Wii" - really pissed me off.-

The game trailer showed a fairly finished product in 2004 and was going to be released in early 2005.
Then it was late 2005.
Then it was early 2006.
Then it was late 2006.
Then it was early 2007.
Then it was late 2007.
Then it was delayed again so they could port it to the first Wii and make it look like the Wii ha a Zelda game at launch.
THAT is the debacle I am referring to.
