Following up on the inadvertent revelation of the PSP Go over the weekend, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Kaz Hirai officially announced the download-only redesign of Sony's portable hardware, referring to it as "the worst kept secret of E3."

Sporting 16GB of internal flash memory, the PSP Go will arrive in North America and Europe on October 1, priced at $249.

I really don't see why you would pay $80 more for the Go.

Maybe they'll make the games cheaper?

So the games are the same price and have no resale value. I'm sure this will do well.

if you can only download game once, its going to crash hard. no way you can fit all of them on the device at any given moment.

Not sure 'bout that. I think they let you re-download and re-install only five times.

I don't understand this product at all. A Download Only Portable Gaming Unit?
How many games can you store?
How long does it take to D/L a new one?
Do I need to supply my own uplink capability?
How much is the price per game reduced to account for the inconvenience factor?
Can you load your existing disc based games onto the internal memory?
I just don't see why you wouldn't want media that you could plug-n-play.

It just doesn't make sense to me. Unless it's a 2-way communicator wristwatch.
