Space Invaders Extreme Hits XBLA Next Week

Backbone's Taito-commissioned Xbox Live Arcade rendition of Space Invaders Extreme will arrive next Wednesday, May 6 at 800 MS Points ($10), Taito announced today.

The neon-heavy downloadable shooter, meant to celebrate Space Invaders' 30th anniversary, packs super-sized enemies and trippy tunes along with various competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes for up to four online or offline players.

  No, Space Invaders Extreme on the DS/PSP was fucking astounding. It's one of the best reinventions of a retro game I've ever seen.

    I wouldn't go that far but it was decent. And the sequel is out on the DS in Europe.
