Nintendo Downloads Bring Dr. Mario Express to DSi, Final Fantasy Tower Defense Force for Wii

Celebrating the start of the new week, Nintendo has updated North America's online DSi and Wii Shops with new downloads, including the pill-popping antics of Dr. Mario on DSi and a Final Fantasy-themed tower defense force game for the Wii.

In CRYSTAL DEFENDERS R1, you must deploy various units such as Soldiers and Black Mages to stop wave after wave of encroaching monsters from escaping the area with your party's crystals. There are many different types of units to choose from, some specializing in powerful short-range attacks, some wielding far-reaching magicks, and still others equipped with bows that enable them to bring down aerial foes. Deploy units in strategic locations to take full advantage of their traits. Each time an enemy breaches your defenses and reaches a map's exit, your party will lose crystals.       well, I think it looks pretty cool. Depends on how in-depth it is I guess. If its just collecting coins from kills and upgrading generic towers (archer, mage) then it might not be that fun. I guess I could read about it... but not right now.

      Don't buy it, if only because the Wii version is scaled down from the other versions for no good reason whatsoever.

      I infer from the R1 in the title that it is one third of the iphone version of the game, which is overpriced at $8. The iphone version comes with r2 and r3, so if SquareEnix continues with this pricing plan you will be paying 3 times more then you should for a game that is overvalued to begin with.
