At first, this trailer for Guitar Hero Smash Hits doesn't seem to offer anything new. We already know about all the songs it mentions, we know it was renamed from Greatest Hits to Smash Hits, and series veterans have a good idea of what it looks like.

But then, at the very last moment, the video redeems itself with word that the compilation of 48 past Guitar Hero tunes, now updated with master track recordings and full band play, will arrive on PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii come June 16, 2009. Nice job, trailer.

When can we expect Guitar Hero: Milking It? Or its close cousin, Guitar Hero: Suck It Dry?

Odd as it may sound, I'm probably looking forward to this moreso than any past or future Guitar Hero game. It's packing several of my favorites from the various iterations, and more importantly, they're all master tracks now, not just covers. I mean, there's actual value in this--for me, at least.

I agree. As long as the track list , which is filtering on games we already know, remains as good, this will be a great addition.

Now, my only complaint is that this should also be DLC for WT. (at least for PS3 and 360, maybe Wii). A Rock Band model approach would have been better for this - even RB's Track Packs basically can be added to the core game, so it's basically paying for a disk and DCL, which is fine.

Yeah, I might actually pick this up presuming I never ever ever have to play TTFAF. Neversoft's got a few games under their belts now, the charts aren't near as terrible as they used to be except for No Excuses
