Lenovo PC Packs Wii-like Remote for Gaming

PC manufacturer Lenovo today unveiled the IdeaCentre A600 All-in-One Desktop and a Wii-like motion-sensitive remote for gaming.

Lenovo claims that the remote "is the first to bring PC users the ability to play games using the remote control's 'motion drive' feature."

The Wii imitation influence even extends to software, as Lenovo marketing director Ninis Samuel told PC World that, "we have an example of a bowling game [where] you can wave the remote and that actually controls your game."

Alongside gaming, the optional remote performs other function as well, and can be used as an air mouse, a voice chat handset, or a media center remote.

The IdeaCentre A600 All-in-One Desktop and its 21.5-inch display will be released in various configurations this April, with the cheapest coming in around $999. The PC measures one inch at its slimmest, says Lenovo, "making it one of the slimmest all-in-one desktop PCs" when compared to other major vendors.

Along with the motion-sensitive remote, buyers will be able to choose from a variety of Intel Core2 Duo processors, an unspecified DirectX 10-supporting ATI Radeon graphics chip, a Blu-ray disc drive, and up to 4GB DDR3 RAM and 1TB of hard drive space.
