Sales-tracking group NPD today released its tally of the best-selling PC games at US retailers between November 23-29--a week that concluded with Black Friday and its traditional onslaught of low-priced bargains and holiday shopping.

  2. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe / EA Maxis / $14 (Average)

  3. Spore / EA Maxis / $47 (Average)

  4. BioShock / 2K Boston, Australia / $11 (Average)

  5. The Sims 2 Deluxe / EA Maxis / $6 (Average)

  6. Left 4 Dead / Valve / $46 (Average)

  7. Call Of Duty: World At War / Treyarch / $50 (Average)

  8. Assassin's Creed / Ubisoft Montreal / $11 (Average)

        I agree. They're good games and I play them from time to time. I usually do weekend stints where I play the shit out of them and then forget them for a while. Kinda like I do with Civ games.

        I just don't like how EA is milking the game with a lot of crapstuff packs. There's a damn new one every few months.

          You can take or leave stuff packs. The expansion though add so much game play that they are often seperate games at times and with the money they charge.

      Sims is big. It's simple, it's fun, and it doesn't require a beast of a machine.

      I have a special grudge for the sims. Not only is it dress-up-dolly online, but EA repurposed my Earth & Beyond servers after they sunsetted it to the sims online.

      Oh yeah, I'm still bitter, EA. Fuck you for that.

      Surely everyone who wants a copy of the Sims owns it by now - how can I stay in the Top 10 for so long? I've got nothing against it, its a fun game, but seriously? Would be interesting to work out just how many copies of it have sold over the years - seems as though it would be 2 for everyone person in the US practically!

        Sims games don't appeal to the traditional gaming consumer. Much like the Wii now, Sims enjoys its success largely because it doesn't compete with Halo. It satisfies customers who dont care about Madden or Call of Duty.
